I Love Drugstore Makeup Tag

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to be switching things up a little and doing a tag. A Pound of Luck just did this and I thought I would too!

So let’s get into the questions, feel free to answer them yourself in the comments!

1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand overall?
Revlon and NYX are my favourites. They both contain a huge range of great quality products, with very few misses. Revlon has incredible foundations and lipsticks, and NYX does a great job of creating unique colours and products that are very comparable to higher end brands.

2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
Face: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation. Great texture and buildable coverage foundation that has been a staple for me for years.

Cheek: ELF Cool Bronzer. A great matte contouring powder, something that’s hard to find in a drugstore.

Lip: L’Oreal Wet Shine Stains. These gloss-stains come in a beautiful range of highly-pigmented, unique colours. If only L’Oreal could change their stances on animal testing, more people would purchase these I’m sure.

3. Least favorite product?
Basically any Covergirl foundation. I’ve never met a CG foundation I’ve liked. They all have bad textures, weird scents, and make me break out.

4. What is the best makeup bargain?
NYX Eyebrow Gel. A product that I haven’t yet seen in drugstores has finally hit NYX, and it’s great! With awestome staying power and a decent shade range-including an ash brown, which are hard to find- these are going to be a huge hit.

5. What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)
ELF Studio HD powder. A great texture for a translucent drugstore powder, and with no annoying shimmer or glitter. You get a lot of product for only $6.00.

6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
Physicians’ Formula products are great, but a bit overpriced for drugstore, especially with the amount of natural products on the market going on the rise.

7. What are your best drugstore dupe(s)?
Rimmel’s Rosetto is a close dupe for MAC’s Twig, a beautiful dusty pink/rose that makes a great MLBB colour.

8. Drugstore product that isn’t worth the hype?
NYX’s Macaron Lipsticks are great, and I’m glad to see more bold colours in drugstores, but the formula is very hit and miss especially for the more unique colours. I think if they improved the formula a bit, they would definitely be worth the hype!

  1. Yay, hope you had fun doing this!
Sadly, NYX isn’t a drugstore brand here. The products are much more expensive here (some of them are twice as expensive). It’s still affordable, but most of the time it keeps me from buying NYX here in Germany, unfortunately :/

I’ve noticed a lot of drugstore products are more expensive in England, where I’m from. It sucks that it’s the same in Germany. Unfortunately all the bigger companies aren’t based in Europe. :/ If you ever do get the chance, they have some great things!
